Michele Bachmann's not a doctor...but she played one on TV.
Americans have a long, proud history of adopting titles that they didn’t earn. Think Dr. Pepper, Doctor Octagon, and Dr. Laura. You can add Michele Bachmann to that list. As Tim Murphy reports, the Minnesota congresswoman spent five years touring the state in the late ’90s and early ’00s under the name “Dr. Michele Bachmann”—although she never obtained nor sought a Ph.D.
She’s even lying on her obtaining a Ph.D, when she never received one from any college in the United States!!!
What’s next, her counting talking to someone from Saudi Arabia as “foreign affairs” experience?

Colombian school suffers from bizarre mass-hypnotism: In regards to that Colombian mass hypnotism post we threw up earlier, we found this video, acquired by Colombian newspaper El Espectador. (Note: It’s in Spanish.) Make of this weirdness what you will. Surprising the story hasn’t crossed over internationally yet, considering how freaking strange it is.

Christian Groups Declare They Have the Right to Bully Gay Kids Until They Kill Themselves
A nice article for Easter weekend in which Christian hate groups like Focus on the Family and other “family-values groups” (which is code for anti-gay) complain that laws that would prevent bullying and discrimination based on sexual orientation are infringing on their religious freedom.
This is a despicable argument. I like this even less than the “women getting birth control violates our religious freedom” argument, and I really hated that one. This is basically saying “We believe homosexuality is wrong, and you telling us we shouldn’t ostracize and shame gay children or children who are perceived by their peers to be gay until they kill themselves is impinging on our religious freedom,” with the excuse that NOT ostracizing and bullying gay kids/teens will promote acceptance of the LGBT “lifestyle” and further the “homosexual agenda.”
I mean, correct me if I’m wrong, but there were no clauses or footnotes in “Love your neighbor as you love yourself, and that which you do to the least of my brothers, you also do to me, and judge not, lest you be judged” that said “unless that person is gay.” I’m not even angry, I’m just disgusted. Totally, completely, entirely disgusted. For shame. And they call themselves Christian?
I don’t think so.
Trayvoning? Oh, fuck you. There’s snark, then there’s being a dick.
A truly insensitive dick. Just stop it.
STUDENTS MAKE BUS MONITOR CRY!!!
Four students in a middle school in my town made a video harassing their school bus monitor. In this ten minute video, they verbally abuse her over and over again, saying things as terrible as “I hope your kids kill themselves so they don’t have to be around you” and they were gonna “stab her in the stomach”. Her son committed suicide ten years ago. The police are handling the undetermined consequences for the children who were harassing her. It has already been on the local news and the video currently has over 280,000 views on Youtube, and over $40,000 has been raised for her to go on vacation, she only makes $15,506 a year. 1,300 emails have been sent to the school district regarding this. A local radio guy in my town tweeted Ellen the video. We want this to go viral and for those kids to be humiliated. She has also been interviewed on the news, aswell as a parent of one of the kids. If you want to send her a sweet message, her name is Karen Huff Klein.
Here is the link to her Facebook page:

Here is the fundraiser to give her a vacation if you want to donate! You can donate as little or as much as you want:

On the link above, there are links to the staff emails including the principal of the school, links to the other videos, links to the schools website, information on the bus number, and the school’s fax number.
WE WANT TO GET THIS ON ELLEN OR ON NATIONAL NEWS! HELP OUT KAREN KLEIN! TEAM KAREN!
This is all kinds of disgusting. I feel the parents of these children need to take part for blame too. No child just ends up acting like this, so their parents or guardians must be somewhat responsible too. What the fuck is wrong with this world that a woman who is doing her job properly is being viciously and verbally abused? And those damn beats think its funny? Nice. They even have the gall to address her by her first name.

Missouri Senate candidate: “Legitmiate” rape victims can’t get pregnant
“First of all, from what I understand from doctors [pregnancy from rape] is really rare,” Missouri Rep. Todd Akin said in a Sunday interview. “If it’s a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down.” Akin, who is running against Sen. Claire McCaskill in November, then claimed that even if these biological mechanisms don’t work, the perpetrator, not the child, should be punished. Kind of tough to defend that.
We don’t even. Akin, you may remember, was a co-sponsor of the House GOP’s plan to redefine rape.

AFA Village Bigot/Idiot Bryan Fischer Says Rep. Todd Akin Is "Like a Victim of Rape"
After likening the backlash to Todd Akin’s comments on “legitimate rape” to the Pharisees’ persecution of Jesus, American Family Association spokesman Bryan Fischer is now comparing Akin to a victim of rape. After listing the growing chorus of conservative activists and media personalities who have called on Akin to quit the senate race, Fischer lamented that “everybody is gang tackling Todd Akin.” “You talk about a forcible situation, you talk about somebody being a victim of forcible assault, that would be Todd Akin,” Fischer maintained.

I think that pretty much sums up how I feel.
A 1940s RCA Manual Teaches Male Bosses How to Supervise Ladies
The blog Retronaut has unearthed a booklet, created by RCA in the 1940s, intended to inform male bosses about the best ways to supervise their new employees as World War II brought females into factories, often for the first time. […]
What’s remarkable about this is that none of the qualities highlighted or advice dispelled in the booklet is actually specific to women. “Tell them what they’re supposed to do” and “tell them when they’ve done good work” and “make sure they know where the bathroom is” are not nuggets of wisdom that are in any way particular to women. They’re just, you know, what any boss should probably be doing for any employee.

WTF Moment of the Day: Kim Kardashian Compares Her 72-Day Marriage To A Girl Having Cancer...LITERALLY!!!

Kim Kardashian gave what’s possibly the most rage-inducing quote you’ll read today to The Guardian:
“I think that, with any decisions in life, like, I spoke to a girl today who had cancer and we were talking about how this is such a hard thing for her, but it taught her a big lesson on who her friends are and so much about life. She’s 18. And I was like, that’s how I feel.”
Tonight’s episode of The Walking Dead was so emotionally heart-wrenching and unbelievable! I am completely speechless!!!
For those of you who haven’t seen it, I will not spoil an episode filled with the magnitude of shockers as this one.
Trust me, if you missed this week’s episode, you need to watch tonight’s episode. AMC will reair the episode at midnight.
This is basically my reaction to tonight’s episode…
