Facebook Follies: Danville KY Vice Presidential Debate Edition (Part I)
Tonight, there was no shortage of political posts in my Facebook news feed tonight. At a couple of points, I was having a hard time to get the screenshots saved before the page reloaded with new posts.
Due to the massive amount of screenshots, I will limit my commentary and make it short and succinct. I am also splitting up Facebook Follies into two parts. I will post Part II tomorrow.
This person was mad at Biden tonight. There was no shortage of my Facebook friends that were mad at Joe Biden. Some thought he was rude, others didn’t like that he interrupted Ryan, and some even didn’t care at all.
What’s funny is that the person’s husband commented below her status and stated that he didn’t want their TV to be broken. Sounds like she’s prone to wanting to break TVs.
I get how she feels, except about the other party.
2)Fuck The Vote
This person is apathetic to the election. He raises a valid point. People need to go out and vote, rather than resorting to airing out their political differences on social media.
In the grand scheme of things, most people don’t care about others’ political views. Others want to block and unfriend people that bombard them with political updates and statuses.
I, on the other hand, enjoy reading the different statuses.
After all, we wouldn’t have posts like this if I blocked everyone.
3)If You’re Not Watching, Don’t Comment
Here’s another one of those posts with abbreviations that annoy me so. The person who shared the status didn’t annoy me. He had a great point. Several statuses mentioned the debate, and some were of people that weren’t watching.
However, the commenter needs to learn how to spell and talk. Sounds more like the commenter is wanting to slap fans of Judi Dench and people that “liiie”, or at least that was what I could decipher.
This post was one of the funniest of the night. First, the person who posted the status started rambling about as epicly as Mitt Romney on the campaign trail, then below her status, she likes her own status.
The person who commented was rightfully confused. I didn’t catch whether she was glad she was watching the debate, mad that Joe Biden laughed about Iran and nuclear capabilities, or endorse self-asphyxiation of the current Vice President of the United States, or sounding like an idiot. I vote for the last reason.
5) This Person Is A Smart One About Politics, Said No Person Ever
I would rather someone who gives the facts and is possible rude, rather than someone who smirks and consistently lies on national television.
Plus, this is a misfired attempt at joking about Joe Biden, a person who is so easy to joke about.
6) “Librul” Bias Of Moderator
This person wasn’t watching the same debate that I was watching. ABC News’s Martha Raddatz was a balanced moderator, giving softball questions to both VP candidates. She attempted to get Ryan to answer questions about his and Romney’s tax plan, but Ryan of course evaded answering the question.
I guess the Republicans were pissed that Joe Biden actually brought facts to the debate, and that their candidate had to consistently lie to remotely come close to even considering winning the debate.
7) Adorable Ryan
This person wasn’t even paying attention to her VP candidate’s answers. She was too mesmerized by his widow’s peak. Seemed too orgasmic in her love of Paul Ryan’s hair.
In all honesty, she thought Biden was rude, forgetting that Ryan was interrupting Biden throughout the debate as well.
She was too enthralled with Ryan’s hair to even remotely make a legitimate contribution to the political discourse of the vice presidential debate last night.
8) Wedded Diss
Conservatives went into spin overdrive over Martha Raddatz inviting President Obama to her wedding that occurred 21 years before this debate last night.
Since when is being invited to a wedding that occurred 21 years before last night debate, 17 years before the 2008 election, 13 years before President Obama’s Senate career, and 1 year before President Obama married the First Lady?
Only in conservative logic is news from two decades ago “breaking news.”
Also, the person who posted the status insults VP Joe Biden’s Senate career. Biden wasn’t trying to filibuster, he was presenting the facts and Ryan could only argue with him like a petulant child.
Biden was like the Walter puppet of American politics, while Ryan seemed more like Gonzo getting mad at Oscar the Grouch. (Yes, I just made Jeff Dunham, Sesame Street, and The Muppets references.)
9) Under Pressure
To all people who thought Biden was rude: he was laughing at how insane Paul Ryan sounded on subjects like Iran, Medicare, Social Security, and other subjects. They misinterpreted his laughter. He was laughing to prevent himself from jumping down Ryan’s throat.
The only pressure Biden was under was his steadily climbing blood pressure rising from Ryan’s antics.
10) Respect Is Earned
Republican voters have such short-term memories. They forget that Paul Ryan interrupted both President Obama and Vice President Joe Biden at different points during their first term.
Tonight was just payback for the interruptions. Regardless of which political position you are, you allow others to talk and give their full argument, instead of interrupting them. Ryan forgot that key lesson.
Biden was simply paying Ryan back for his interruptions.
Part II of the Danville KY Vice Presidential Debate Edition of Facebook Follies will be posted tomorrow. Who knows, there may be more posts for me to add tomorrow.
This post ends my live blog of the Danville KY Vice Presidential Debate. I enjoyed the blogging as usual. See you back here tomorrow!
