US Capitol Police and FBI Investigating Possible Threat Against Rep. Todd Akin
U.S. Capitol Police are currently working with the FBI on a reported threat against Rep. Todd Akin, a spokeswoman said Thursday.
The spokeswoman said it was “an active, open investigation” but declined to say more, citing a policy against discussing the security of members of Congress.
Pressure from the mainstream Republican Party has mounted on the Missouri representative to drop his bid to unseat Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill in November because of his comments about “legitimate rape” and opposing abortion in rape cases.
