A Republican congressional candidate accused his opponent (THIS man) of pretending to be black.

What he said was,
“[w]e could be like Steven Horsford who’s not doing anything with [the African-American] community and, you know, pretend we’re black and maybe try to get some votes if that’s where it is.”
He’s not really accusing a black man of pretending to be black. No, it’s much worse. He’s saying ‘we’ as in ‘we white guys could pretend to be black if it means getting the black vote’; he’s accusing black people of voting on candidates simply because they’re black and not on, y’know, their political merits or what have you. That’s much worse an accusation, in my opinion, than what TP is implying.
Reblogging for kiokushitaka’s brilliant commentary.
