My Facebook response to someone who claimed that people were shoving their beliefs in Dan Cathy’s face:
It’s not condemning Christians for saying what they feel is right. I never said you couldn’t say what you felt. That’s the beauty of the First Amendment. Everyone can say what the feel. Not everyone has to agree with it, but everyone has th
at right. The post was merely telling others to be more compassionate to others. You can still tell them what you feel, I’m not keeping anyone from doing that. I was merely stating that God loves the sinner, and that everyone in this situation deserves prayer. The moment religion is shoved in someone’s face, namely the face of a nonbeliever, the perception given off by the person matters. If you tell them without being condescending about it and offer to pray with them and show them their errors, then you are not condemned. Most people tell others that they are living wrong, but they don’t explain to them how to correct it. That’s all the post was referencing. No condemnation involved.
