Demetrius’s arrangements:
Demetrius, was known as “D,” according to information provided by Burr Funeral Home. He was interested in body building, listening to music and volunteering at the Habitat for Humanity Resale Shop in Newbury.
His family, who has sought privacy, donated his organs through Lifebanc, a Northeast Ohio agency that matches organs, eyes and tissue with patients awaiting transplants.
He is survived by his parents, Phyllis and Tim Ferguson and his biological father Tim Hewlin, brother Philip Carter, sister Hannah Ferguson, as well as grandparents and cousins.
Calling hours for Demetrius will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, also at St. Mary’s Catholic church.

His family asks that people light a candle for Demetrius on March 8, his birthday.
